Responsibility

"Say what you do, Do what you say, Be responsible every single day."

Today, we had the lovely Karla, alongside Katie, instead of Reece.

We have to go things for yourself rather than rely on other people to do it for you.
Responsibility means telling the truth and taking responsibility for the things you do.

At home I'm responsible for:
Tidying the house, making my bed, looking after my pet.

In my classroom, I need to be responsible for:
Looking after our devices (chrome books & iPads); putting the chairs down in the morning; doing our work; so that we can advance in life; your own things.

We played "Bop It"
Bop it
Pull it
Twist it
Spin it
Jump it
We showed fantastic attitudes this week!
Bop it!
We earned 18/20 for Respect points this week!

Integrity

Honesty is the way to be, just try it out and you will see...
We talked about how we can show honesty in our everyday lives.
We played a game with the Ripa tags. We had to show integrity by not goose guarding and doing the right thing by giving it back.
We had a few problems because some weren't showing integrity.

Learning about Space

Hey guys!

Rata class are into their forth week of learning and talking about space. Our main question is "Could we live on another planet?"

We have had a fantastic morning reading about the atmosphere of other planets and comparing it to Earth, as well as, watching some amazing videos from Chris Hadfield (an amazing astronaut).

Emalea and Mikayla K had some really interesting discussions about living on Mercury!
Did you know there is oxygen on this planet? There was a bit of a problem though... Mercury often gets hit by flying rocks! Do you know what another name for flying rocks are? Read more about Mercury on this link!

Chris Hadfield is such an interesting person. It is awesome learning from his youtube videos about how to do normal Earth things in space! I think my favourite video of his is how to make a sandwich in space!

It is interesting listening to the news at the moment. President Trump wants us to send another space craft to Mars. We spent some time reading about life on mars... I wonder if it will ever become a reality? What do you think? Read more about it here!

Welcome back to Term 2!

Hey guys!
I hope you all had a fantastic break and did lots of really interesting things. I am impressed at some of our students who have been blogging throughout the holidays. In particular some amazing posts made by Kareem, Hunter and Elijescha,  as well as, some great comments made by Kay-Lee.

This term is an exciting one... we are working on our topic of Space and we are learning more about how to create interesting DLO's to share our learning.

You can see what we have been learning on the Senior base camp site and can see what the students have created on their blog down the side!

Looking forward to sharing some fantastic work!
