Reliability

You can count on me, to get the job done. You can always trust me. I'm the reliable one.

It's great to be back in our hall for Kiwi Can!

We started with a game.
We had to carry a ball between our knees to the other end. It felt a bit silly, and it was quite tricky for some.

We recapped on last weeks session about reliability and trust. We gave examples of things we could do to show we could've trusted. For our activity, we had to work together to pick a card (which had a letter on it). We had to silently communicate with each other to get into a line in alphabetical order.

New hub in action

We have been having a great time experiencing our long awaited hub! We have left half of our furniture in the old hub! - Maybe we don't need it!?
Before habitation...

Collaborating towards self-managing our learning

We have been using SOLO taxonomy to talk about how we are going to work towards being self managed learners with our devices.

We broke into groups to brainstorm what each category might look like in our new hub.
We then came back inside and collated our ideas together, on the board.

Soaking learning like sponges

Twelve Gilberthorpe students were privileged to attend the first inaugural Uru Manuka Student Summit, at Hornby Primary today. 6 students presented Toolkits to other akonga in pairs.
They attended (and presented) Toolkits on topics ranging from robotics, voki, scratch coding, using apps...
Afterwards, the 90 students were able to take their new knowledge back and share it with the akonga in their classrooms.

Responsibility

Say what you do, Do what you say, Be responsible every day.

We used role play to show different situations where we need to show responsibility... at home... playing sport...
